Don’t be afraid of the unknown

What are you afraid of? Why aren’t you applying, writing, submitting, meeting, running, asking, questioning, or taking what you want in life?

The question you need to ask yourself is, “What is the worst that can happen by doing ______?” Then answer that question. Most of the time the likely answer isn’t the end of the world scenario you first thought it would be. If you think about it and the result would be the end of the world, then please don’t do it. Usually we don’t even make it past the original question, or delemia. Many of us only think about the likely rejection. We don’t think about what if we got accepted, or what happens after the initial rejection.

A few days ago, I was filling out my Five Minute Journal the quote of the day was perfect for this type of scenario. It was a quote from Bruce Lee, and it read,”Knowing is not enough; We must apply. Willing is not enough; We must do.” You can know what to do and be willing to do it, but those two things are not enough. You must actually apply and do them or you might as well do nothing.
