Many of us treat the drive to vacation the same as life. We’re in such a hurry to reach our destination that we forget to enjoy the journey.
Last Saturday, that’s how I was feeling as my family and I were rushing to beat the crowd for a week at the beach. While traveling through Pennsylvania the sun began to rise while everyone else was still asleep in the car. It was one of the most beautiful sunrises. A great sunrise is something I rarely go outside to watch because I’m usually writing.
This rush is how most of us treat our goals. We’re so focused on the end goal that we forget to enjoy the journey.
Think about today. Did you really appreciate anything today? Or did you rush from one emergency to the next while just trying to keep your head above water. You need to pick your head up and look around every once in a while. You’ll start to notice the many beautiful things that are happening all around you.
Look up, smile, listen, and appreciate that you have this moment to enjoy life.
