Yesterday, I was listening to a week-old, Ask Gary V Show, and it was a recording of a recent conference where he was the keynote speaker. At one point in the podcast Gary was talking about one of his missed opportunities to become an investor in Uber.
His brother, AJ, took on of the first Uber rides in New York City. While he and Gary were discussing Uber, Gary realized Uber doesn’t sell transportation, they sell time.
Time is one of the most important resource we have. Figure out a way for people to save time and turn that idea into a business because saving time always sells.
Look at an older invention like the dishwasher or one of my favorite business idea of a company that sells high end black socks to business people based on the idea of saving busy people time.
It’s no different than solving any problem. A lot of the time people don’t even realize it’s a problem.
Lack of time is one of my biggest problems. I’ve read a number of stories or quotes about you’ll never get more time. That’s true, there will always be only 24 hours in a day. The way you use those hours can improve with the help of companies like Uber, Dollar Shave Club, Blacksocks, and Trunk Club.
I’m always on the look out for more time. Find a way to save me time and I’m probably pay for it.
