One Sentence Review: The Imitation Game

One Sentence Review:

The story of Alan Turing to create the world’s first computer and harsh realities of the world around him.

Rating:

I enjoyed the story about Alan Turing’s discovery but it was also about his inner struggle as a gay man in a country that viewed his orientation as a crime. It’s has part of happiness and achievement but it’s wrapped in a struggle that ultimately turns the film down a dark path. I enjoyed the film. Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent but it wasn’t my favorite movie of the past year. I found it similar to The Theory of Everything. Two rebel British geniuses who struggle with problems that are ultimately revealed as the movie moves along. Both films have excellent acting.
