I’ve been thinking about this day for the past few years and I finally decided to commit to in the middle of December. Today, I’m finally completing my first event as a charity runner for the American Heart Association in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. This will be my fifth year competing in the marathon, once as a full marathon participant and the other three times in the half. It’s one of my favorite events in the city. It’s amazing how many people come out every year to compete, volunteer, and cheer to help Pittsburgh have one of the best marathons in the country.
This half marathon is in honor of my father who passed away over three years ago from a heart attack. This was one of my Pick Four goals I established back in December and I’m happy to finally running for dad. Later today, I’ll post some pictures from today’s events. I hope everyone has a safe and healthy Pittsburgh Marathon.
