Goodbye, David Carr.

I now inhabit a life I don’t deserve, but we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn’t end soon.

– David Carr, The Night of the Gun

My favorite journalist, David Carr, died Thursday night when he collapsed in the New York Times newsroom. He was 58.

At the top of this post, I’ve embed a tweet from the New York Times Archives listing 1,776 articles written by David Carr.  This weekend, I’ll probably spend sometime reading a few.  After the tweet is one of my favorite quotes from the man.  It’s taken from his book about his life struggling with drug addiction.  Lastly, do yourself a favor and rent Page One: Inside the New York Times.  It didn’t receive great reviews but David Carr is excellent in it and makes you wish you could write for, “The Gray Lady.”
