“A good life happens when you stop and are grateful for the ordinary moments that so many of us just steamroll over to try to find those extraordinary moments. To me, my good life is soccer practice, and carpool line. And tuck-ins. And date night. That’s the good life for me. And knowing that it’s good. Acknowledging and stopping and saying that it’s good.”
I love this quote by Brene Brown about what it means to live a good life. My wife had our first son ten months ago, I’m constantly thinking about these past few months as the best time of my life and how this is the only time in our lives that I’ll be changing his diapers, feeding him, and having him falling asleep on me. I try to appreciate all of these experiences even when it’s two o’clock in the morning and I’d rather be in sleeping. Like Brene says, it’s important to know when life is good and acknowledge it.
